A Ley Line at the 2018 West Coast Dowsers Conference

by Alex Champion

Figure 8 designA Little Background story

The biennial West Coast Conference (WCC) of the American Society of Dowsers is being held this year at UC Santa Cruz starting at the end of June.  I’ve been making labyrinths at the WCC for 30 years.  In 1989 I made the triple spiral design with Nicolas Finck.  The next year I made my first design, the Figure 8 design (drawing on left).

It was based on the cracks in a standing stone on the top of a cairns at a spot on Point Reyes CA (photo below right) which was one of my favorites.  After that I made a new, never been walked, labyrinthine design every year. For many years I did surveys collecting people’s experiences.

A Labyrinth Plan for 2018 Conference

This year the conference is being held at Stevenson College while Rachel Carson is renovated.  I went down with WCC committee members to check out sites for the grass Cretan and the chalk design.  Stevenson has a centrally located plaza with an old Oak tree at the west end which will provide natural shade for the vendor tables.

The only place for a decent size chalk design is on the south edge of the plaza, a little east of center (google earth view of Stevenson College, the plaza site is marked by a red dot and the Letter L.)
google birds eye view of stevensens college, santa cruz
We walked down to the south edge of the campus where an unimpeded view of part of the Great Meadow can be seen.  With the ocean in the distance.  Fantastic view.  When we were there on a sunny day, the area was filled with perhaps two dozens students lying on the grass.  Only problem it was ~420 feet from the plaza.  Barry Christian suggested a courtyard area closer to the plaza (~120 feet).  It was a neat place with a large Oak at the west end, and adequate space for a Cretan on grass.
It had an added feature that a path from the parking area to the plaza ran on the east side of courtyard, so many attendees would get a nice introduction to the conference.  Because of the view and it being a nice getaway from conference activity, I chose the Great Meadow site.  Then I thought that why not put a simple crop circle design in the courtyard site as an introducing element.
When I returned I looked at Stevenson College on Google earth and located the three places for this year’s designs.  Using the edge of the ruler I found that they lined up in a straight line!  A month later I went down for a second look.  I went to the courtyard first and as I walked around the space, a site popped out to me.  I dowsed its exact location.  Then I asked if there was an energy line present, Yes, it ran through my site I picked and it ran south towards the plaza.  On the plaza it went through the site of the chalk design, and I located the site for the Cretan on grass design at the great Meadow area, and the energy line ran through it.
bulls eye crop circle    Unicursal Hexagram

I dowse that the bull’s eye crop circle (above left) would be appropriate for the courtyard site.  I have not made it before so I don’t know its effect.  For the plaza design, I thought I would base the design on a recent crop circle.  I searched through my crop circle year put out by the Alexanders.  In the 2014 edition I found a crop circle based on a unicursal hexagram, drawn with a single continuous path.  (above middle) .  So I made a unicursal hexagram which is very labyrinthine (above right).

An Energy Line Runs Through It…

I first thought  that I had found an energy line from a ley line.  My definition of a ley line is a straight line alignment of three or more notable sites.  A notable site can be a standing stone, or a stone circle, or a holy well, or it could be from a labyrinth or other unknown sources.  But after thinking about for a while, I realized that I didn’t have enough information to say the energy was from an existing ley line.

I found an energy line and its source could be several possibilities.  It could come from a standing stone.  Every standing stone I dowsed when I was in England in 1986, and there were dozens, had two energy line running through them, perpendicular to each other and meeting in the stone.

3 ring cretan labyrinthI had made a very small standing stone near the entrance of a rock 3 ring Cretan that I made on the Art Line in Nevada. (photo left).

It had two energy lines running through them.  I dowsed 10 stone circle sites, all stone circle had energy lines that ran through and beyond
(example is Merry Maidens, below right).

Double Spiral Earthwork Study

I did not study where they went, a much bigger endeavor, and I knew very little about ley lines at the time (1986).  But I did dowse a ley line because the last stone circle place we visited was the Hurlers, which were three stone circles in a row.  Dowsing simply for energy lines, this is what I found.  What I conclude was that three stone circles in a row helped to magnify the energy coming in them.  (Image below}

I made over 40 earthworks and every one had several types of energy lines that ran through them and on beyond them (photo double spiral dowsing study).  I never followed any line leaving the earthwork very far.  I remember asking how far by dowsing and received that many of the lines went around the world.  That was one of those answers in which I would have to do a lot work to confirm, so I didn’t think about it.

The Stevenson energy line could  be from energy generated by a ley line.  That’s one of several possibilities.  In England, many ley lines are made with stone circles and standing stones, each of which is capable of generating energy lines.  One would have to orient each structure so that their line ran along the ley lines.

If there was no existing energy line, proper alignment of the Cretan, six pointed star, so that the energy ran along their straight line alignment would create a very high energy in itself.  The Cretan will generate power spot energy and the six pointed star Yod energy, and will those two combined they produce a higher level energy.  I saw this before with meander wand design (Image below).

I will be making a ley line on top of an existing energy line.
Over the past 30 years all my designs have been independent of each other.  One year I made a cross of four labyrinthine designs, and the energy at the center was quite high.  This year I was making was a ley line.  I know that I can site  the Cretan and hexagram so that their energy will flow along the ley line.  Their combined energy will create a high level energy.  A circular design will draw in energy to its center and then send energy out the circle at a higher frequency energy.  A circle will purify the area where it’s in.  What will happen when the Cretan and Hexagram combined energy hits the crop circle is hard to predict.
So the newly created energized ley line will interact in some unknown way and may result in a even higher level energy.  To modulate the effects of supposed higher energy line, the following prayer will be imprinted into the ley line, may everyone who experiences this energy do so according to their needs.

Another possible effect of adding energy to an existing energy line may increase its width, which I dowsed to be. four feet wide.

Feeling the Effects:

After determining the three sites I sat at a table on the plaza and watched how the students used it.  My seat was off the line, a student sat a table that was on the line.  He left and I went and sat on the line.  Within moments, I started pulsing, a full body pulse. I left and went back to the table off line.  the pulsing stopped.  I went back and sat on the line, and the pulsing reappeared.  Later when the three committee members joined me in the plaza, I asked them to sit at the table on the line.  Sarah, across me, said almost immediately, I am buzzing.  Then moments later, no really, I’m really buzzing.  Birute on my left reported that, Yes, I did feel a buzz.  It was subtle but clear. , and Carol on my right said, Yes, I definitely felt something.  It wasn’t a “buzzing” but definitely something strong and powerful.  In my mind, I was persuaded that an energy was present.

The line runs, I estimate, to be 8 degrees East of North/South.   As it heads south, it enters the ocean at Santa Cruz and stays in the ocean.  North, it runs east of the East Bay and runs into the Mount Shasta area in northern CA.

Alex Champion will be creating this Ley Line at the 2018 West Coast Dowsers Conference on Saturday Morning, June 30 at 10:45 AM.
You can join him as he talks about the process and help build the labyrinths!

Dowsing for Things that go bump in the night

Things that go bump in the night

Do ghosts really exist? After people die, can they continue to hang around and haunt a person or a place? Can entities cause problems for us? Can paranormal activity be real? After dowsing and teaching as my profession for almost twenty years, with a primary focus on personal energy clearing and space clearing, my answer to those questions is a resounding “Yes!” In fact, this aspect of my space clearing work has become my specialty.

After doing thousands of space clearings, both on-site and remote, I find two primary causes of paranormal experiences:

  1. Earthbound Spirits
  2. Interference Energy

Earthbound Spirits

An Earthbound Spirit is a human being who has lived on Earth, whose physical body has died and whose soul has entered the astral plane, but for some reason, the person chooses not to enter the proverbial tunnel and follow the Light to join their loved ones in the Higher Realms. They are too attached to a person, a place, or to physical life itself. They are still somewhat aware of their physical surroundings and can see the physical people around them, but most of those people cannot hear or see them.

Some souls get trapped in the astral plane for many years, sometimes hundreds of years. They do not realize that they have trapped themselves.

Interference Energy

There are many kinds of beings in the astral plane besides Earthbound Spirits. One category of these spirit beings is what I call “non-human entities.” These are beings that have never had life on Earth as human beings, but are somehow related to human activity. I believe that in a very real sense, human beings actually create these “negative beings” with our negative thoughts, emotions, and actions.

When people enter intensely negative states of mind and emotion, because of traumatic life experiences, we can open a crack between the worlds and energies in the astral plane can connect to us. This is what I call Interference Energy. It then greatly exacerbates the negativity that attracted it in the first place. It sets up in certain places in the home that I call “doorways to the astral plane.” Some might call them portals.

Interference Energy then causes all the natural (Earth) energies in that home to be detrimental. It also exacerbates negativity in and between people in the home. Interference Energy interferes with our lives.

Problems Caused by Earthbound Spirits and Interference Energy

As a general rule, people just don’t feel good when these energies are in their homes or offices, and it’s much more common than you might think. Some might not even notice it, but it can cause major problems for more energetically sensitive people, especially for empaths.

Some people feel depressed and anxious when in spaces that are affected by these energies. Physical symptoms of illness will likely be exacerbated. For others, it can actually cause physical symptoms, such as intense headaches, nausea, insomnia, strong pressure in the neck and chest area causing a choking sensation, etc.

Earthbound Spirits and negative beings, or non-human entities, can see and hear us, but, as a general rule, we cannot hear or see them. Children see them more often that adults. Cats and dogs are often reported to hiss or bark at “nothing,” however it seems that they are seeing something that we can’t see.

Paranormal Events

However, in time, if the Earthbound Spirits or the negative beings related to Interference Energy have access to the space for long enough, they can learn to manipulate the physical energy environment and cause paranormal events. They can turn lights off and on, and they sometimes are actually reported to flip switches. They can cause electronic equipment to malfunction or quit working altogether. They can make rapping sounds on walls and ceilings, as well as the sounds and physical vibrations of footsteps, when no one in the physical space is walking. Some clients report smelling strong odors, like cigarette or cigar smoke, a particular perfume, or even more gruesome odors, such as rotting flesh.

Some Earthbound Spirits may simply be trying to let their loved ones know they are there. Others are angry because strangers are living in what they consider to be their home, and they want to drive them away. Even if they mean well, most Earthbound Spirits are frustrated and angry, which causes most of the natural energies in the home to be detrimental.

The negative beings that are given access to the home through Interference Energy often want to instigate fear in the inhabitants of the space. They feed on our fear and negativity; it strengthens and empowers them. This is one of the dangers in working to clear them, as for many people, dealing with these spirits breeds fear, which can actually make things worse.

For the most part, these energy beings do not cause physical harm and are not dangerous. Sometimes my clients are amused and aren’t afraid; others are terrified. They almost all want these activities to stop.

Finding the Energies and Clearing the Spaces

In my housecleaning sessions, both remote and onsite, I deal with these energies almost every day. You can learn how I find and clear them in the full-length version of this article at www.dowsers.com. However, this is not something I can adequately teach you to do in the written word. After working with these energies for many years, I find it takes lots of personal coaching, with much time for practice, before I can get other dowsers to feel confident in finding and clearing these energies. Very few do, especially with Interference Energy. For now, I just wanted to convey that I know that these supernatural occurrences can be real and ultimately can be cleared.

Sustainability: What’s a Sustainable Lifestyle?

lateAfternoonNCal

“If you can keep on using the amount of stuff you’re using in daily life forever, without ever running out, then your lifestyle is sustainable.”

How can dowsing help us live more sustainably?   Many of the speakers at the Dowsers Conference in Santa Cruz talked about how dowsing is a natural player in  sustainability.

Master Dowser and Geomancer Richard Feather Anderson offered an advanced dowsing class this year.  Here is more from Richard and his insight on sustainability:

“I think most of us in the dowsing community are consciously awake enough to know that we are currently engaged in non-sustainable lifestyles within a non-sustainable culture and economic system. The exciting thing about dowsers is that we’re already searching for ways to live healthier and in balance, and we don’t need to be convinced to change how we live. But we do need help figuring out what actions we can take personally. And that is what we do every other year at the West Coast Conference: we share ideas about the simple significant actions we can each incorporate into our lives to live simpler, better, more fulfilling lives that also make life better for all beings and critters. This year we will expand our usual how-to menus from the personal sphere to the well-being of our planetary home.

“Sustainability” has become a hot topic these days, which is a good thing for the planet and all us earthlings. It’s also become a buzzword in marketing, which sometimes clouds and confuses the real issues. So here’s a few thoughts I can offer in case you’re not sure what it’s all about, or have trouble explaining it to friends and acquaintances.

Sustainability is actually a very simple idea. I think of it as “treating Mother Earth right.” A phrase I coined says it in another way, “Giving back TO Mother Earth sustains a giving back FROM Mother Earth.” You can think of it as living in balance, or the ecological principle of reciprocity.

When we compost our kitchen scraps and grass clippings or fallen leaves, and spread the decomposed mulch around the vegetable garden or fruit trees, we’re feeding the soil so it can support the plants to grow more food for us to eat. We’re reciprocating, giving something back to Nature so it can keep giving to us.

To know if you are living a sustainable lifestyle, all you have to do is ask yourself, “Am I giving back to the Earth an equal measure for what I receive?” If the answer is yes, what you’re doing is sustainable. If you can keep on using the amount of stuff you’re using in daily life forever, without ever running out, then your lifestyle is sustainable.

Geoprosperous* Places – A New Focus for Health

afternoonsun

How do you determine the best place for you to live or be?  Master Dowser Susan Collins offers this article on finding your own Geoprosperous Places.   Susan will teach an advanced course July 3rd, at the West Coast Dowsers Conference in July at Santa Cruz, CA.

 Finding Your Own Geoprosperous Places

by Susan Collins

“I, for one, am sick of looking for things that make me sick. Why is it that the dowsing community is so focused on all things non-beneficial when we know we get what we think about? We know we create our own realities, and the realities we apparently enjoy spending time with include, among other things, homes filled with Geopathic Stress. (“Geo” referring to the earth, “pathic” referring to suffering or inaction.)

Our alarmist culture has spread the word that harmful energies exist everywhere, and dowsers keep finding and naming new types of energy that interfere with our health, wealth and happiness. To be honest, it’s been good for my business, since I spend a good part of every day helping people balance the problems in their environments, but isn’t it time we shifted our collective focus to energies that make us healthy?

If we get what we think about, let’s think about and look for beneficial energy places, something I’ve always referred to as Power Spots. I’ve been inspired to develop a new term for these places that will help and heal us: Geoprosperous Places. (“Geo” referring to earth, “prosperous” referring to, you guessed it, prosperity.)

Let’s focus on finding places that are healthy for us and maximizing the beneficial effects of those places. Let us invite prosperity, love and joy into our lives. Let us experience abundance in all things. Yes of course there may be things around us that are not good for us, but there is a tremendous amount of energy around us that supports us: Geoprosperous energies.

By focusing on the beneficial energies around us, we can become high pressure systems of beneficial energy. Energies which do not serve us will automatically be dispersed in the same way low pressure areas are. Another way to view this is to remember that darkness cannot exist where there is light. Our focus on Geoprosperity will elminate Geopathic Stress.

Geoprosperous Areas

A Geoprosperous area can be as small as your office chair or as large as a remote valley you hike into. You can seek out these beneficial areas in an environment, or you can simply ask them to come to you where you need them. It is a key concept in the energy world that the energies you seek will come to you. So if you’re having a bad day on the job, you can simply ask for the beneficial energies you need to get through the day.

I had the good fortune to be teaching a class for the Canadian Society of Questers in Salmon Arm, B.C. in the fall of 2010. I introduced the concept that not only are there Geoprosperous Spots, but that the energies you need will come to you. An older man in the audience had come into the class using a cane for support; he’d hurt his leg in an accident at work. He took the information I presented to heart, and realized that with each step he took, he could ask for healing energy for his leg. By the end of the class he had tucked the cane up under his arm, and was no longer using it for support.

Power Spots

The concept of Power Spots was first given to me by the late Bruce Magill. I’ll never forget the Canadian Society of Dowser’s conference when Bruce, a big, intimidating man, solemnly got up on stage and told us he had discovered Laughing Spots – places so powerful that when he stood on them, he was convulsed with belly laughs. He proceeded to demonstrate (and with Brucey, that was something to witness) and his laughter was contagious. When the laughter died down he told us that you could ask for a spot for anything you needed, and I’ve been teaching his concept ever since.

How to Find a Geoprosperous Spot

You can find a Geoprosperous place the same way you find anything else with dowsing. The easiest tools to use are L-rods and pendulums. Geoprosperous spots will come to you if you ask them to.

1. Use a Dowsing Protocol to connect with the best and highest good so that your answers are accurate and helpful. (The Dowsing Protocol I use is at www.dowser.ca/dowsingprotocol.html and is also given in all my books.)

2. If you have a specific issue you want help with, such as “I feel tired”, set your intention to find a spot that will assist you in having an alert state of mind and body. (See examples in the article). State clearly what you are looking for. I often just say something like: “I ask for a spot to give me the most appropriate energy for me at this time so that I may be completely balanced in all aspects of my being.”

3a. If you are using L-rods:

• Say “L-rods, point to the closest spot that will help me resolve the issue … (state the issue)

• Walk forward slowly saying “L-rods, cross when I get to the spot that will help me resolve …

• When the rods cross, ask “L-rods, is this the spot?” If NO, ask the rods to point to where you you identified in Step 2.”)

(state the issue you identified in Step 2.”) then  slowly walk in that direction until the rods cross. Confirm the spot.

3b. If you are using a pendulum:

• Say “Pendulum, swing to the closest spot that will help me resolve the issue … (state the

• When the pendulum swings clockwise, ask “Pendulum, is this the spot?” If NO, ask the issue you identified in Step 2.”) Walk forward slowly saying “Pendulum, swing clockwise when I get to the spot that will help me resolve … (state the issue you identified in Step 2.”)

To begin: hold the pendulum at the level of your belly button in front of your body and have it swing away and towards your body. Walk slowly in the direction that the pendulum is swinging. If it angles away from your body to the left, go left. If it angles away from your body to the right, go right. As you get close to the Geoprosperous spot, the pendulum will begin to swing clockwise. When you are right on it, the pendulum will swing strongly. pendulum to swing in the direction you walk. Walk forward slowly until the pendulum swings clockwise. Confirm the spot. Sometimes it can be a bit hard to tell from the motion of the pendulum exactly where the spot is. Make your best guess, then confirm with a YES or NO answer by asking if you are standing on the spot that will help you balance your issue.

4. Now that you’ve found the spot, let your hands relax at your sides, let your knees relax a bit, close your eyes, take a deep breath and think to yourself “I ask to receive the beneficial energies available to me at this spot, particularly those connected with … (state the issue you identified in Step 2.”)

5. You may feel something in your body – a motion, a thought, a vision or other sensation. When the experience seems complete, step off the spot. Ask with your tool if there is anything more for you to do at this spot. Ask if there is another Geoprosperous Spot you should experience now.

6. Jot down any thoughts or experiences and keep track of your progress.

Examples of Issues and Solutions    Use the procedures described above to find your own Geoprosperous Spots. Dowse through the sample list below to see which of these statements, if any, are appropriate for you to work with at this time. Adapt the wording of the issues and solutions statements to your own needs and traditions to get the maximum benefit. Remember, when in doubt you can always say something like: “I ask for a spot to give me the most appropriate energy for me at this time so that I may be completely balanced in all aspects of my being.”

• Not enough money: “I ask for a Geoprosperous Spot (GS) to reduce barriers to my prosperity and to increase my experience of financial abundance on an ongoing basis.”

• Lonely: “I ask for a GS to disconnect my reluctance to communicate with people and to increase my ability to relate to others in a healthy way on an ongoing basis.”

• Sad or regretful: “I ask for a GS to help me let go of memories that no longer serve me and to increase my experience of happiness on an ongoing basis.”

• Confused or forgetful: “I ask for a GS to eliminate all thoughts, emotions and energies that interfere with clear thinking and to increase my abilities to recognize truth and value on an ongoing basis.”

• Angry or afraid : “I ask for a GS to disconnect all non-beneficial emotions that interfere with my ability to think clearly and to increase my ability to take appropriate actions in a timely way on an ongoing basis.”

• Hungry or tired: “I ask for a GS to remove my feelings of hunger and fatigue and to maximize the environmental energies available to me so that my body can be healthy and strong until the time I can get the healthy food and rest I need on an ongoing basis.”

• Lost: “I ask for a GS to disconnect all energies of confusion and increase the energies around me that will direct me to a safe place so that I can complete my journey.”

• Sick body: “I ask for a GS to disconnect all non-beneficial energies around every aspect of my being at the appropriate rate so that all the energies around me create perfect health physically, mentally, spiritually, emotionally and energetically.”

• What’s your issue?: Create your own statement … “I ask for a GS to…”

I invite you to find your own Geoprosperous places. Let me know how it turns out for you! For more information about dowsing and how to dowse, please visit my website: http://www.dowser.ca.

Using Dowsing With Labyrinths

Children naturally know how to walk labyrinths.

Children naturally know how to walk labyrinths.

Here’s another example of Dowsing, and the benefits of keeping an open mind!   This story is from Richard Feather Anderson, who will teach an advanced course at the Dowsers West Coast Conference in July, Santa Cruz, CA.

“Dowsing is a wonderful way to reach beyond what we consciously know – to get answers to questions that best serve everyone concerned. I can’t imagine doing what I do professionally without the help of dowsing. I use it in every feng shui consultation, geomantic site planning job, labyrinth design project, space clearing, and earth acupuncture treatment. Dowsing gives me deep insights more quickly than I could ever get just using my rational, logical, analytical faculties. Let me give you some examples from my every-day professional uses.

In my thirty years of designing and laying out labyrinths for people to use for walking meditations and consciousness-raising processes, I have always dowsed for the spot that will “best support” these activities, and then dowse for where the entrance and main axis should go. One of the first years I brought labyrinths to the West Coast Conference, 1986 or 87, my dowsing directed me to orient a seven-circuit ancient style labyrinth so that the entry path was directly aimed at a three-story blank concrete wall on the campus of UC Santa Cruz. I could not figure out why my higher intuitive self thought this was a good idea. My architect’s mind told me this gave meditators the ugliest possible view as they started their walk and arrived at the center. I had noticed that labyrinth walkers spend most of their time looking down at the ground to stay on the path, and only look up as they enter, and again when they arrive at the center. So I knew it’ was important to orient a labyrinth so you see something inspirational or peaceful at those moments when you look up and take in the surroundings.

Even though I couldn’t explain why it made sense, I followed my dowsing results. On the last night of the conference I went out to have one last labyrinth walk. It was the first clear fog-less night, and as I stood at the mouth of the labyrinth and looked along the path to the center, I saw to my amazement that the path was pointing directly due north to the North Star. “Oh, my goodness!” I exclaimed, “so that’s why I was directed to orient it this way.”

I learned that night to never question my labyrinth dowsing results again. The next year it happened again with the orientation of a Chartres labyrinth. I thought I was being told to orient the labyrinth toward the beautiful redwood grove on campus, but when I took a compass reading I discovered it was also replicating the orientation of the original labyrinth in Chartres Cathedral in France, which points at the summer solstice sunrise. I just love how dowsing nudges me to do things that are only later revealed to be so perfect for the desired intention or goal.

Dowsing Protocol for Rain

Samuel Taylor ParkThis protocol for Rain was posted in our February Newsletter, and we were getting so many good reports with its success, we thought it would be a good idea to post in on our blog.

You can add or modify to this for  your own area and situation.

A Protocol for Rain for California:  We are experiencing the worst drought in recorded California history.  We would really appreciate your assistance.  The following is a suggested protocol for your use in assisting us in ending this drought.

Weather is governed by the weather divas who plan things and oversee their development, and the weather spirits who actually do the work of moving things around; setting up high and low pressure areas, routing streams of warm and cold air, wet and dry air, the jet streams, fogs and all the other components that go to make up the weather that we experience.

The divas and spirits are energy, just as we are.  They have consciousness and minds.  Like us, they sometimes make mistakes or forget things.  When things get forgotten or mistakes are made, other beings suffer.  Sometimes the weather energies are so focused on their world and goals that they don’t notice that a problem has developed.

In this case, it appears that they set a high pressure ridge off of the coast of California and then forgot about it.  The result was that California remained without normal rainfall for several months while other parts of the country were inundated with rain, snow and below-normal temperatures.

Plants, animals and people suffered because of the forgetfulness of the weather-beings.  Some suffered and died because of dryness; some suffered and died from the cold.

No being truly means to deliberately harm other beings; once a problem is pointed out, normal beings hasten to correct that which is causing harm.

We simply opened a channel (by praying) to the weather-beings and told them that they seem to have forgotten to move the high pressure ridge and that many life forms were suffering because of it.   We asked them to move the ridge to a location where it would benefit all life insisted of causing problems and suffering.

It did not take long (about two days) for weather spirits to move the ridge slightly and for light rain to pass through the area.

We expressed great thanks for the fresh moisture and asked if they could please move it further so that true storms, what we in Central California call the “pineapple express,” because the storms originate near Hawaii, could develop so as to bring us rain and also that the cold and snow elsewhere would be abated, ending the suffering in the Midwest and East.  The ridge is moving again and we have a forecast of a week of wet weather.

Please, do this request yourselves, and assist in bringing the much-needed winter storms back to California.

Be sure to thank the weather divas and the weather spirits for their work on our behalf.  Our gratitude is their incentive to assist us when we request it.

Remember:  You can add or modify to this for  your own area.    We welcome your own input, additions and conversation to this protocol.

The Power of Intention and Thought in Dowsing

Local DowserChapter Meetings are a great place to learn how to dowse and to learn a lot of different ways you can use dowsing for.   Recently at the January Golden Gate Dowsers Meeting in California,  geomancer Richard Feather Anderson presented a talk about Dowsing for the health of trees and how he has fine-tuned his applications of French Coils.   He brought up the point of how important intention and focus are for any dowsing applications.  Here’s a short dowsing story video  to illustrate:  (click on the picture to view)

More from Richard on Geomantic Site Planning Work:

“When I’m looking for the best spot for a new home, dowsing enables me to become aware of subtle Earth Energies or underground water that would not create the healthiest conditions. So often my clients have picked a spot based on the views or sense of privacy, but missed the turbulent energies that they will probably not like after they’ve moved in. I don’t know any other way to detect them in advance, except by dowsing.

In my feng shui practice, dowsing gives me a way to quickly discover the deeper hidden source of the disharmony or dysfunction in an environment. When visiting a client’s home or office, I don’t have the luxury of spending enough time with them to get to know them intimately, to understand what makes them tick, or what childhood trauma is still playing out and getting in the way of creating the kind of life they really want. The questionnaire they fill out only gives me the concerns and problems that they are aware of. I find that the aspect of the environment that really needs shifting is often not on their list. But with map dowsing I can just ask for the areas that are most critical to investigate, go there, and allow the mystery to be revealed.

And even after I’ve used my feng shui, architectural, and environmental psychology knowledge to figure out what the design or psychological issues are, and the general approach for how to improve the environment, I still need to uncover what specific type of design change or energetic transformation will be the most effective in this situation, for these people, with their particular aesthetics. So I just dowse my list of possible remedies, asking for the most appropriate ones for these clients. When their faces light up into a big smile, I know that dowsing has once again helped me get quickly to the best solution. And I know they are more likely to follow through and make the changes when they get excited and say they can imagine hanging that kind of picture, or adding that plant, or moving everything around in the room like I sketched.

But the dowsing I’m most excited about right now involves my work with trees that are struggling or in decline, because of climate change or new diseases. I’m experimenting with the “French Coil” technique, in which you place spirals of copper wire around a tree, supported on wooden stakes so the wire doesn’t touch the trunk. One end goes into the soil as a “grounding rod” and the other end is turned upward to form an “antenna” that draws in cosmic chi to give the tree an energetic booster shot.

To apply these copper coils I need to find where the tree naturally draws in etheric energy. Every tree draws water and nutrients up through its roots, and sunlight and carbon dioxide in through its leaves, but it also has a “front door” through which it draws in cosmic chi, and a “back door” where it discharges waste. If the back door is larger than the front door, more energy is going out than coming in, so the tree is getting depleted of life force. The grounding rod and antenna need to be placed at the front door. Dowsing is essential for figuring all that out.

I’ve been supplementing my dowsing processes with techniques for communicating with tree spirits. I ask each tree if it would benefit from a French Coil, and then dowse for all the dimensions for the grounding rod, the coils, and the antenna. In the last year, working in one orchard, some very interesting developments have occurred, totally because of my letting the dowsing and the tree spirits lead the way. The trees started asking for an alternate kind of French Coil that I also learned about decades ago. They requested small helix coils to be placed to the left and right of the front door. After dowsing the dimensions for several of these, I realized they were asking for antenna lengths that embodied musical harmonic ratios, like the octave, perfect Fifth, and Musical Fourth. Each tree asked for a specific harmonic for its coils. Are the tree spirits asking for sound healing treatments? Am I being guided to create resonant harmonic fields around the trees, to shift their energy so that insect pests don’t like the taste? I’m curious what will happen this spring as I watch for the results of last year’s treatments, and let my dowsing lead the way into more new discoveries.

I will be sharing more stories from this unfolding journey at the West Coast Conference this summer, and passing on these and other techniques during the Specialized Dowsing School. My goal is to greatly expand the number of dowsers excited about helping trees and plants thrive, and co-creating sustainable Edens in their own homes and gardens. I hope you’ll join this cadre of earth healers.”
